ISPs and telco vendors often get across-the-board negative reviews from customers and are averse to change, while enterprises have no choice but to acquiesce to status quo. Lightyear's team is motivated to rebuild this reality from first principles as one of the few drivers of real, positive, durable change in this industry.

Remote-First, High-Trust Operation
Lightyear is a remote-first company with no location restrictions. We trust our team to manage their schedules around what matters most — whether that's family, focus time, or a midday run.
Flexible Time Off
We offer paid time off without accrual limits — for rest, travel, family, or whatever matters most. Time off is manager-approved and grounded in trust, ownership, and professional responsibility.
Paid Holidays
We offer 12 for rest, celebration, and time with loved ones. The 13th holiday is chosen annually by the team in our very serious, very fun "Battle of the Holidays".
Health Insurance
We offer national health, dental, and vision plans with 100% coverage on base plans for employees and 80% for dependents. Team members also receive FSAs and a $50K life insurance policy at no extra cost.
401(k) or retirement plans
Lightyear offers a 401k plan option to full-time employees through Guideline and you can start contributing as soon as their first paycheck. We offer a 50% match up to 3% of an employee's salary.
Company stock plan
We offer employees stock option grants that vest over four years with additional opportunities to obtain new grants based on performance.
Bi-annual team events
Twice a year, we bring the whole team together — once in NYC, and once in a new city — for connection, collaboration, and a lot of fun.

Second Round Interviews – Back-to-back with CEO & a relevant leader (30 mins + 30 mins)
A conversation with our CEO focused on vision, values, and how your strengths align with Lightyear's mission. This is your opportunity to hear more about our mission, where we're headed, and how your strengths could contribute to what's next. Followed by a conversation with a relevant leader at Lightyear.
Third Round – Case Study Interview
While early interviews are brief and conversational, the case study is a meaningful commitment offered only to candidates we're seriously considering. It helps us understand how you solve problems, assess alignment, and gives you a chance to decide if Lightyear is the right fit for you.
